Leaving Dinner in the Oven
We have all heard of the saying ” your dinner is in the oven” It means being as you are not home yet your food is on a plate in the oven on low waiting for your return. Never in a million years did I ever think I would leave a “dinner in the oven” though while flying out of town for a few days. But I did, and I am glad I did, and I will do it again and again now.
Monday, I flew out to Los Angeles for two days, but before leaving I dropped some pork belly into my Sous-Vide Supreme and set the timer for 72 hours.
On my return I removed the pork and seared it before serving. I can’t begin to tell you how tender and tasty and moist it was.
Hmm.. now when I fly to the UK for a week next, what can I “leave in the oven for dinner” this time (laughs)
